President's Message:

Even though March has been colder than January, I can now say spring has finally arrived .  Hopefully the transitional period from brown to green will progress quickly and the delights of spring flowers will soon be upon us.

Believe it or not, we have two meetings remaining this season.  The CAA board has prepared a slate of officers for members to vote on during this April meeting.  The officer positions are established as a two-year term.  The nominated slate of officers for the term July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2008 is as follows:

                    President - Joyce Kanyuk

                    Vice President - Rose Scaglione

                    Treasurer - Jack O'Reilly

                    Recording Secretary - Mary Shine

                    Corresponding Secretary - Lanis Monfried

Your vote and participation is important, so please mark your calendar and attend this meeting.  The swearing in of new officers will take place at our May meeting.

Membership renewals will be forthcoming and again I am impressing upon members that our club can only continue with your support and volunteerism.  Many of the positions can be done as a group or individually at your home not requiring many skills.

Rose Scaglione has been for many years demo program chair, and an assistant is requested.  Rose has done and continues to do a great job.  Having another hand with this task is greatly appreciated.

I also thank Rose for organizing the bus trip to the Salmagundi Club AWS annual exhibit in NYC.  Call Rose at 845-323-4234.The trip is scheduled for Thursday, April 6, leaving at 8:45 from the A&P parking lot, W. Allendale Ave. and Demercurio Dr., one block from the intersection of W. Allendale and Franklin Turnpike. We will spend the morning in Soho and the afternoon at the Salmagundi Club, returning about 5:00.

Starting next season we will need a volunteer for hospitality, which requires setting up the coffee for each club meeting.  A special thank you and much appreciation is extended to Rolf Hellmich for his many years at this task.  Volunteers are also needed for publicity, CAA shows ( Sponsor/Silent Auction and Member show), workshop coordinator and the like.

Please take particular consideration when completing the membership renewal and volunteer form.  Your support and participation are what makes Community Arts the club it is servicing its local communities and artists.

The next meeting of the Community Arts Association will be held on Tuesday, May 9th, at the Archer Church, 37 East Allendale Avenue at Franklin Turnpike.   Refreshments will be served at 7:30 p.m. and the business meeting will begin at 8:00 p.m.

President's Message

Congratulations to our new officers voted in at our April meeting, President -- Joyce Kanyuk, Vice-President -- Rose Scaglione, Treasurer -- Jack O'Reilly, Recording Secretary -- Mary Shine and Corresponding Secretary -- Lanis Monfried.  The swearing in ceremony will take place at the May meeting.  Please attend our next meeting (the last for the season) in welcoming our new officers.

Before I pass the baton to our new president, I wish to take this opportunity to thank many of the members for their dedication and assistance in their continued efforts in supporting Community Arts.

My four year tenure has been a personal fulfilling experience.  I only hope many members concur with the changes made on operating costs such as meeting hall relocation and underutilized monthly cost items.  I am proud to say our club is solvent and continues to operate within budget constraints.

I extend special thanks of gratitude and appreciation to all board members because with their commitment our club continues to be recognized as a viable club servicing not only local artists but its surrounding communities as well.

Our newsletter will be managed by Tom Monfried as announced in April.  Please make sure you note this email and address change.  Thank you Tom for stepping to the plate in assisting our club with this task.

Special thanks to Phyllis O'Reilly for the six or eight years as newsletter chair.  With the help of Phyllis' computer knowledge, CAA has obtained sizable cost savings on postage resulting from emailing the newsletter.   Thank you Phyllis in establishing the groundwork.

For the next season, we have a few critical chair positions needing volunteers.

These tasks are:  publicity, program chair assistant, bus trips, special events i.e. annual fundraising and juried show, hospitality, membership and a few other smaller assignments.

Please take the time to sign up on your renewal membership form.

2007 Juried Show

Much thought has been given in deciding whether or not to have a National Juried Show next year.  Any show of this magnitude requires at least a handful of volunteers to step up at various stages.

Our last National Show in March 2005, was housed at RAI running for just over two and half weeks due to the weeks RAI galleries were available.  For a show of this size and accepting works from all over the country, the entrants prefer at least a month to show.  CAA would prefer to have the show in April or May and run for a full month.  RAI can not provide those months and anytime sooner is not enough time.  Winter tends to hang on during March which at the time, can pose some undo anxieties and uncertainties.  Also, a national show requires a volunteer to manage the delivery and return of accepted works shipped.  Richard Ochs who recently passed away was a long time member and fine artist who in the past managed this task for us.

In light of the above, Pat Rutkowski will chair a Regional Juried Show to be housed at the Louis Bay Library in Hawthorne from May 5, 2007, receiving date, until June 9, 2007, pick-up date.  All works accepted would have to be delivered by the artist on receiving day.  We will not be providing management for shipped works.  Hence, a renewed look at a juried regional show instead of national juried show.

The Louis Bay Library facility can house up to 90 paintings, more or less, and small sculpture on their own pedestals as done in the national show.  The prospectus and details need yet to be determined as well as all other assignments.  Please contact Pat Rutkowski at (201) 818-4103 or email at PHRTIST@aol.com if you wish to take part in this event.

The next meeting of the Community Arts Association will be held on Tuesday, January 10, at the Archer Church, 37 East Allendale Avenue at Franklin Turnpike. Program--Critique
It is once again time for us to bring in our artwork for our annual "Critique".  You may bring one or two pieces (if time permits we will do both).  They do not have to be framed but matted is advised.  Due to an unforeseen error in scheduling the original presenter, Rosemary Zabal, is unable to do the program.  However, our own Peggy Dressel has kindly stepped up to the plate and will be our presenter for the evening.  Peggy is eminently qualified as she has been a teacher for many years and she will share her innate knowledge of what makes a painting great.  So, bring in your work and share with your fellow members the good (or bad) works of art you feel need a good critique.

Next month we plan to have a "Video" presentation of one or more of the many VHS video's we have in the Allendale Library.  Please consult your yearbook and give me some feedback on which ones you'd most like to see.  SEE YOU ALL SOON.

The next meeting of the Community Arts Association will be held on Tuesday, January 10, at the Archer Church, 37 East Allendale Avenue at Franklin Turnpike. Refreshments will be served at 7:30 p.m. and the business meeting will begin at 8:00 p.m.  Refreshment sign up: January, Liz O'Leary;  February, Lanis Monfried; March, Peg Elwood and Alice Szuna;  April, Lori Strangfeld; May, Gerry Bird.

Bart D'Andrea's lecture and slide presentation last month was very, very interesting. He's such a good speaker and makes his subject come alive! He read a poem written by Michelangelo. Did you realize he was also a poet? Here it is for you to enjoy.

The best of artists had no thought to show
The rough stone in its uneasy shell,
Which does not include to break the
Marble spell,
The hand only serves, the brain can
Glow.
The ill I avoid, the right I seek,
Even so,
In your fair lady, proud, inexpressible,
Lies hidden, but the art I create so full,
Works against my wish, and leaves me
Low.

Therefore, not love, or your beautiful face,
Or cruelty, or fortune, or distain,
Caused by mistake, or fate, or destiny,
Since in your heart you carry death and grace,
Embodied together, with my worthless brain,
Can attract only death to feed on me.

CAA Newsletter - November 2005

Meeting
The next meeting of the Community Arts Association will be held on Tuesday, , 2005, at the Archer Church, 37 East Allendale Avenue at Franklin Turnpike. Refreshments will be served at 7:30 p.m. and the business meeting will begin at 8:00 p.m. Refreshment sign up: November, Mary Shine; January, Liz O'Leary; February, Lanis Monfried; March, Peg Elwood and Alice Szuna; April, Lori Strangfeld; May, Gerry Bird.

President's Message
Fall is certainly upon us now providing lots of landscapes of bright color and opportunities to paint. The new meeting place appears to be suiting our needs well for our monthly meetings, demonstrations and workshops. I look forward in seeing you at our November meeting.

Clara Caldarone has informed me that the Louis Bay Library exhibit hall is available to our club members for future exhibits as a group. The auction housed 48 paintings of various sizes and we had one short wall that was absent of any paintings. It's very possible to fit 50 to 55 paintings. This space is booked up until May '06 and only September"06 thereafter. The months in between are being offered. Please contact me if you are interested. We can exhibit for one month or two months at one time. You can reach me at (201) 818-4103.

Silent Auction
I'd like to thank the following club members who assisted throughout organizing this event and on the auction day itself: Lanis Monfried, Phyllis O'Reilly, Mary and Bob Shine, Sal Caldarone, Michelle Himes, Joyce Kanyuk, Rose Scaglione, and Jack O'Reilly. Many thanks as well to members who provided refreshments for the reception.

Despite the rainy weather and lower than anticipated attendance, the auction was successful with a total of 16 paintings sold collecting $2,720.00. We also collected $270.00 cash from bid ticket sales and door prize ticket sales. We grossed $2,990.00. After expenses, we should net just under $2,700.00.

Thank you to all members who donated 48 paintings for this event. The collection of works in this exhibit was exceptional and the reception gave a festive feel complimenting the time of year. Everything looked great. Perhaps with a stronger publicity campaign, the attendance would have been greater and more paintings sold. Food for thought for the next go around.

Program
Slide Show "Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel" - Presenter: Bartholemew D'Andrea

We welcome back one of our favorite people. We have the eminent lecturer, Bartholemew D'Andrea, who will present the story of perhaps the greatest work of art in history created by an artist did not want to paint it. The story is just as fascinating as the painting itself. Bart will also speak on the other great masterpiece by Michelangelo in the Sistine Chapel "The Last Judgment"

Workshop Report
The "MaryAnn Heinzen" watercolor workshop went extremely well. We had six participants and Mary Ann was a wonderful teacher who treated us to a very enjoyable day of painting. We thank her for her generosity in sharing her knowledge and technique. It was a great experience for all who attended.

The next workshop will be on May 13, 2006 with Phyllis Rutigliano. Details will be given at a later date but I will take names to reserve your space. It's bound to be a very popular workshop. ROSE SCAGLIONE, PROGRAM CHAIRPERSON

Two important events will take place this October. Most important is our club's fund raiser on October 22--the 2005 Silent Art Auction. This event has taken the place of the Sponsor Shows we have done in the past. So, mark the calendar and invite a friend, neighbor or business acquaintance The invitation/ flyer is attached.

The second event is another one-day, Saturday, watercolor workshop on October 15. Contact Rose Scaglione to enroll or fill out the attached form. Invite a friend as well.

2005 Silent Auction:
I greatly appreciate the member donations of fine artwork for this auction. We received 48 paintings for auction and two door prize paintings to raffle on the day of the event. Special thanks to Richard Ochs and Joyce Kanyuk in donating these door prize paintings.

I also extend special thanks to members who provided multiple paintings. Much appreciation to Mimi Cohen, Monique Paige Du Bois, Lillian Fendroch, Ethal Jamroz, Joyce Kanyuk, Richard Ochs and Tatiana Turchin. The show looks great!

The show is on exhibit from now until the day of auction, October 22. Many members have inquired about the process of the silent auction. I will attempt to explain further.

In order to place a bid for any painting, a bid number is assigned to you at a registration price of $5. The register will have the name and address of the person associated with that bid number. Each painting has a bid sheet next to it listing thestarting/opening bidding price.
If you are the first bidder, you record your number and that price. Any subsequent bidder for the same painting follows the same process: post your bid number, but the price must be $5.00 or more higher.

The auction is open from 1-3 p.m.. At three o'clock all bids will be closed and the bid sheets having bids will collected and settled with the winning bidder. No painting will be auctioned for less than the established starting price which the committee has assigned. When all is said and done, the artists of paintings not sold will be contacted and will remain at the library during the last week in October for pick up.

Tickets will be sold for the door prize paintings, $5.00 for one ticket, $10.00 for three tickets. Place your ticket or tickets for the collection bin for each painting. The winner will be announced at auction closing time. If anyone has any further question, please contact Pat Rutkowski, (201) 818-4103.

Volunteers are needed for the day of the event. I need at least four people to check in people and assign bid tickets, one person to sell tickets for the door prize, and four people to assist with the settling of paintings. No credit cards. Only cash and checks accepted.

Refreshments will be served on auction day. A sign up sheet will be passed at our next meeting but if you cannot attend and since CAA has such a fine rep for having good food at receptions, please contact me with the food item you'll provide. Drop off will be at the Louis Bay Library, Hawthorne, at noon.

Program

Meeting
The next meeting of the Community Arts Association will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2005, at the Archer Church, 37 East Allendale Avenue at Franklin Turnpike. Refreshments will be served at 7:30 p.m. and the business meeting will begin at 8:00 p.m.

President's Message
Welcome to a new season for Community Arts. Rose Scaglione once again has put together an interesting year for our monthly demos coupled with a few one-day art workshops: two this fall and two in the spring. Thank you. Rose, for your continued efforts with this program.

The Board members are aware of the difficulty of attending a full week workshop in this day and age when everyone's personal schedules are so busy. Hence, we are scheduling Saturday one-day workshops hoping to accommodate more club members and providing an opportunity for more of us to attend. The first such workshop is scheduled for September 17. Details further on in this newsletter.

A couple of committee posts need volunteers: Newsletter and Publicity. Please contact me if you are available.

Hope to see you at our first general meeting held at our new venue, Archer United Methodist Church hall, Franklin Turnpike, Allendale. Feel free to contact me if you need further directions, (201) 818-4103.

Remember, meeting night has changed to second Tuesday of the month.

Silent Auction:

I have received a few forms with your intended donation and I thank you. Our goal is to collect around 60 paintings. If you have a photo of the painting you are donating, please forward to me so that I can pass it on for publicity. The Hawthorne library will provide publicity for us in that area.

At the general meeting, we will request members who are donating and those attending to personally address invitations to this event to family and friends. The Hawthorne Library provides a very nice venue to exhibit and host a reception--very accommodating. I encourage members to assist with this mailing to a handful of your acquaintances in promoting this event.

We also need exhibit monitors during the two weeks prior to the day of auction. The hours will be the afternoon from 1-4 PM. A sign-up sheet will be available at the meeting or call me if you can assist.

Program-Karen O'Neil-Oil Still Life
Karen will be demonstrating an Oil Still Life with an emphasis on value and simplicity of line and brushwork to capture light in her unique style.

Karen O'Neil studied at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston and in Provincetown with Henry Hensche. CAA Newsletter June 2005

Please note the change in day and place of meeting.

I'd like to thank all club officers, chairpersons and members for your assistance throughout this past season. It's hard to believe another summer is upon us. Have a fun-filled and healthy summer.

The Community Arts Association Student Scholarship was awarded to Philip Radujuko, graduating senior from Fort Lee High School. This award was presented June 11 at the Bergen County Cultural art show event held annually at Van Saun Park. Thank you Lorraine Strangfeld for your assistance in presenting this award.

New Meeting Location starts September 13, 2005. As mentioned in prior newsletters and past few meetings, we have had to change our meeting location due to growing rental costs at Northern Highlands Regional High School. A number of factors were considered in making this change. Although we are a solvent club and can continue having monthly meetings with demonstrations and workshops, Northern Highlands annual rental costs kept climbing faster than we are capable of incurring new membership and fund raising. This past year alone the rent was $2,000.00. The cost for the new location will be approximately $595.00, a substantial savings for our club.

Our new meeting venue will be at Archer United Methodist Church in Allendale, not far from the high school and closer to the center of town and Route 17. New Location: Archer United Methodist Church, corner of Franklin Turnpike and East Allendale Avenue, Allendale. Parking lot is on the Franklin Turnpike North side and left front of church. The meetings will be held in the hall attached to the church. There is a stage, making demo viewing more enhanced, tables and chairs and a kitchen just off to the right providing easy access for refreshments. Storage space for our cabinet and mirror is also available.

New meeting day will be the second Tuesday of the month, not the second Monday. Please make special note of this change. A reminder will also be mentioned in the September newsletter. Any questions, call Pat Rutkowski 201-818-4103.

I am pleased to announce that Rose Scaglione has worked hard at putting together next season's demo program and workshops including a few one-day workshops. Please consider attending these new Saturday workshops.

Our fund raising event for next season starts September 24 through October 22, a Silent Auction at Hawthorne Library. Details further described in the next newsletter so start now working on the paintings you wish to donate for this event. We did not have a sponsor show last year and raising funds for our club is a top priority for our next season. Please contact Pat Rutkowski if you wish to help out on this event. Publicity for this event is what we need to attract people so spread the word around to family, friends, businesses and the like.

Once again, have a great summer!

Workshop News
Unfortunately, due to the lack of participation we have had to cancel the Joel Popadics workshop which was scheduled for the week of May 9.

Since it may be due to the fact that many of our members work during the week, we are attempting to get artists for a few Saturday or Sunday workshops. Please call Rose Scaglione (845-323-4234) if you have an interest in attending a Saturday or Sunday workshop. If we don't get a reasonably good response we will not go forward with this idea.

We are in the process of selecting demonstrators and workshops for next year. We want to maximize participation, so we are asking for your input. Please vote for one:

President's Message
Our member panel discussion during last month's general meeting was a great success. I personally thank Joyce Kanyuk, Peggy Dressel, Mary Ann Heinzen and Rolf Hellmich for sharing with the group what worked and what didn't work for them. I walked away feeling I had learned a few more tricks to the trade when it comes to marketing and exhibiting.

Our program this month is interesting, so try to attend and bring a friend. Picasso is always an interesting topic and for a non member $5.00 charge to view the program is a steal.

After analyzing our annual expenditures, our biggest expense is Northern Highlands rental which has increased yearly by $500.00 or more. Our expense for this season is $2,000.00. So, I've done some exploring and found a location nearby and perhaps easier to find, Archer Church in Allendale located at the corner of Franklin Turnpike and West Allendale Avenue. At $50.00 a meeting vs. $200.00 we are now paying at Northern Highlands, this opportunity is enticing. The adjustment will be meeting on the second Tuesday of every month instead of the second Monday of the month. Force of habit may cause members to make mistakes at first, but in the grand scheme of things, change can make a positive difference. There will be a definitive announcement regarding this change in meeting venue in our next newsletters.

National Show
The time has arrived for this grand presentation of excellent artwork at our show. I only wish the weather would be more forgiving! I'm very pleased and confident that the show will once again be a great success. I thank Bob and Mary Shine for all their hard work in organizing, compiling and collecting awards for this show.

Please contact Lanis Monfried at (201) 825-0538 if you can provide an appetizer or dessert for either our Friday evening Private Viewing, March 11 or the awards presentation on the following Sunday afternoon, March 13. We are in need of more refreshments and we seem to have a good reputation in providing good food thanks to our club member's great chef qualities. It must be because our club members create great art!

In advance, I'd like to thank those who have volunteered their time to serve as monitor for the duration of this show.

Mark your calendar for the Sunday Public Viewing and Award's presentation.

Important Changes
Our principal fund-raiser, the Sponsor Show, has run into some operational difficulties in the past. There are plans in the works for a different kind of fund-raiser in the Spring. A silent auction -details to come- allows bidders to make a paper bid on paintings they wish to buy. Members who donate a painting will receive a percentage of the proceeds. Those who have been so generous in the past will probably find this type of activity more fun as well as more profitable.

The Board has proposed, both as an efficiency and cost saving method, to send future newsletters by email to those who have this technology. Members without an email address may still receive their newsletters by post, and the others who prefer a hard copy can easily print one. Please let us have your thoughts by emailing Phyllis O'Reilly at phylliso41@aol.com, calling at 973-694-6804, or writing at 41 Hillcrest Drive, Wayne, NJ 07470. Unless we hear otherwise, we will begin with the April newsletter.

President's Message
The holidays were spared from the snow but it isn't over yet as this recent storm has proven. Let's hope the snow gods keep the second Monday of the month free from it all. Our last meeting went very well for the critique night with Tim Gaydos.

This month's meeting happens to be Valentine's Day so, don't forget to kiss your better half before you run out the door to attend the meeting. I'm sure there will be some valentine treats included with the refreshments. I look forward to seeing you.

National Juried Show
The jury panel met Saturday, January 22nd and yes, we successfully completed the selection of slides before the snow became too severe. I first would like to thank the following club members who assisted on that day: Lanis Monfried - Refreshment/Lunch committee and her team- Beth Rys and Anita Shao, slide projection process and reading - Mary and Bob Shine, computer programming and tallying scores - Danny Thompson, mailing - Phyllis and Hugh O' Reilly and member juror - Eileen Georges and alternate juror - Billie Samuelson.

NATIONAL JURIED OPEN EXHIBITION
March 2 - March 19, 2005

RIDGEWOOD ART INSTITUTE
12 EAST GLEN AVE. RIDGEWOOD NJ

Opening Reception: March 13, 2005
2-4pm, Awards ceremony at 3pm

Open to the Public 1pm-4pm daily or by special request

Special thanks to Phyllis O'Reilly and Joyce Kanyuk who collected the slides, checked all details and prepared the documents necessary in running this computer program. I thank Manfred Wegner with his assistance in setting up the screen, chairs and projector before the day of jurying.

We had approximately 298 slides/photos to view, 125 double slide entrants, 36 single slide entrants and 8 sculptures. These entries were from as far north as New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New York and as far south as Florida, North Carolina and many from New Jersey. We also received entrants from Ohio, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and as far West as California. Since we did not have a show in 2004, I am very pleased with this response for 2005.

The accepted totals for the show are 100 pieces of artwork and 6 sculptures. Congratulations to all club members who were accepted in this show. Once again, I truly appreciate the commitment by club members assisting me with this effort. There were many great works both entered and accepted. Community Arts will once again provide an impressive show.

As we approach the final months' preparation for this event, please consider contributing to the general pool of awards funding or designate your contribution toward the Norm Felton memorial award, details mailed separately. I will also need assistance on receiving and hanging on March 2nd, monitors for the period the show is open, refreshments for the receptions and pick-up day. Please contact Pat Rutkowski, (201) 818-4103, if you wish to volunteer for any of these activities. If you are attending the next meeting, please sign up.

ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION: "HOW TO BECOME A "PROFESSIONAL" ARTIST

For this month's meeting we will have a panel discussion led by some of our members who are "Professional" meaning that they have taken the next step in their careers. They are in galleries, they show and sell their work through various means and some are now also teachers.

If you are ready to take you next big step or if you would just like to learn how these members did it. Please join us. I promise you'll learn a lot and you will be encouraged to move ahead in your career as an artist. We'll also be discussing how to enter shows, what works, what doesn't, etc. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we'll have a good turnout.

National Juried Show Fund Raising
Over 300 slides were judged on January 22 and I am sure everyone will be delighted with the high caliber of art that was presented to the judges. Without a doubt we will have a very successful show. As far as fund raising for donations, we are at about 50 percent of our goal mark with just two and a half weeks to the deadline of February 11. However, we have promises from a number of businesses that have not as yet been received. One last reminder a special memorial award has been set up for Norm Felton who passed away this past month. Anyone planning to make a donation toward this should be sure it is marked for "The Friends and Family of Norman Felton".Contributions should be made to Community Arts Association and sent to Bob Shine, 69 Lake Drive West, Wayne, NJ 07470 or call at 973-628-1345.

CAA Newsletter September 2004

Meeting
The next meeting of the Community Arts Association will be held on Monday, September 13, 2004, in the cafeteria of the Northern Highlands Regional High School, Hillside Avenue, Allendale, NJ. Refreshments will be served at 7:30 p.m. and the business meeting will begin at 8:00 p.m.

President's Message
Welcome to the 2004-2005 season. Hope everyone's summer was full of fun, relaxation and promise. As for myself, I turned fifty and had to send my first child to college, another transition in life! I look forward in seeing you at our September general meeting.

National Juried Show - 2005
RAI informed me late July that our initial dates requested for our National Jury show could not be accommodated. The prospectus has not gone to print so these dates can be reassigned. The new receiving date is now scheduled for March 2, 2005, Wednesday and the pick up will be March 19, 2005, Saturday. All other important dates will be noted in the prospectus.

The prospectus is expected to be available late September. Lorraine Strangfeld will be managing mail requests. The prospectus will also be available at the general meetings from October to January and available on the website. The planning for this event is ongoing until the show is on. If you haven't signed up to assist at various stages, please contact Pat Rutkowski at (202) 818-4103. I greatly appreciate any and all helpful hands.

Sponsor Show
A chairperson and committee is still needed for this event. Remember this is our only fundraiser for the year and I cannot serve to chair this event as well as the National Jury Show and Presidency. This is not a hard event to do. The Allendale Boro Hall is the location for the event. Last year's show was on a Sunday afternoon which we feel attributed greatly towards the low sponsor turnout. Therefore, the Board has recommended that this year's event take place on a Saturday evening. The date has not yet been confirmed with Allendale Boro Hall for November 13, 5-7 or 8 PM. I strongly request someone's assistance.

We are unable to provide tables, backdrops or chairs, so artists would be responsible for their own setup. We have a spot inthe front of the high school to set up. We are not asking for an entrance fee or for a percentage of whatever an artist might receive in sales. What we will do is advertise the show in the general ads about Ramsey Day, and send out press releases about the art show in particular so people will know to look for it. Access to the area is possible through the Prospect Street side, and we are asking that exhibitors be there by 10 am, and. of course they can leave when they see fit. Missy Kupfer's home phone is 201-818-2586, and Jeanne Jaekel is also available to answer questions at 201-825-7957.

The Third Annual Bergen Museum Music and Art Festival will be held from October 14-16 at the Bergen Mall. On October 16 the Artists' Show and Sale will allow artists to display their work. For further information see the web site www.thebergenmuseum.com or call 201-291-8848.
